About the race
BMF UTA Training Miler is a guided trail training run on sections of the Ultra Trail Australia and Hounslow Classic courses in the Blue Mountains National Park. The session follows the Perry's Lookdown to Lockleys to Pinnacles to Fortress Ridge return route starting and finishing at Perry's Lookdown campground. The terrain includes steep climbs and descents, stairs and single track, with significant elevation change on the main route. The event is run by a company licensed by National Parks and Wildlife (ECO PASS) and insured to operate within the park.
Run trainers provide guidance on race preparation, gear, nutrition, pacing and race strategy, and they organise pace groups to keep participants together. There will be three pace groups labeled MIGHTY TURTLES, a medium group, and HARES. Trainers monitor participants and offer options for easier pacing or early turnarounds. Participants must carry UTA mandatory gear.
A water stash will be placed at Pinnacles car park and two 600 ml bottles will be supplied there for the return. The organisers recommend bringing fuel and hydration for up to six hours on feet. Minimum age for this training run is 16.
Registration fee is A$95 and the event allows limited transfer and partial refund options according to the published cancellation policy. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
