The Napa Wilderness Trail Runs take place May 15, 2027 at Skyline Wilderness Park in Napa, California and are organized by Bay Trailrunners. The event offers multiple trail distances on reworked courses that include new sections through Napa Open Space.
Distances offered
- 50K - 32.4 miles; ~6,700 ft gain; Hard
- 30K - 18.2 miles; ~4,000 ft gain; Hard
- 21K (Half Marathon) - 13.9 miles; ~2,600 ft gain; Moderate
- 10K - 6.1 miles; ~1,300 ft gain; Moderate
Course notes: the longer routes climb the Rim Rock Trail and include sustained climbs with lookout points where Mount Diablo, Mount Tamalpais, and Mount Saint Helena can be seen. Course maps and final routing were updated in 2026 and may be subject to change.
Aid stations and on-course rules: aid is spaced roughly every 5 to 9 miles with water, Skratch and Cure hydration, GU gels, and plant-based options at major stations. The event is cupless; runners must bring their own cup, bottle, or hydration system. Volunteers pour fluids into containers; there are no cups provided.
Logistics and safety: the $6 parking fee is included with registration for participants entering through the South Gate overflow lot; spectators use the main gate and pay the parking fee. There are porta-potties at the start/finish and no restrooms on course. Cutoff times are published per distance; participants must complete the 30K portion within 6 hours to continue on the final 50K loop.
