Mutt Strut 5k Memphis 2026
Mutt Strut 5k Memphis is a dog friendly charity 5K held on October 10, 2026, at Overton Park with a start near the Rainbow Lake Pavilion across from Overton Bark dog park. The event benefits Dogs 2nd Chance, a Mid South dog rescue organization that cares for abandoned, abused, and stray dogs.
The course covers approximately 3.1 miles and all participants who cross the finish line receive a Mutt Strut 5k medal. Awards include medals for Top Male and Female, Top Male Master and Female Master (40 plus), Top Male Grand Master and Female Grand Master (70 plus), Top Male Senior Grand Master and Female Senior Grand Master (80 plus), and the top three finishers in each age group. Team fundraising opportunities are available and total funds raised support rescue and care efforts.
The event permits dogs to participate with specific rules: dogs must remain on a short leash in public areas, retractable leashes are not allowed, female dogs in heat and puppies under 12 weeks are prohibited, owners must maintain control and assume responsibility for injuries or damages, and current rabies documentation must be provided upon request. Dogs will be given fresh water during and after the run. No person under 18 may run with a dog.
Packet pickup is scheduled for Thursday October 8 and Friday October 9 with additional pickup on race morning starting at 7:45 am. There is parking available throughout Overton Park along Veterans Plaza, Golf Drive, and Morrie Moss Lane. Registration by September 10 guarantees a race day t shirt. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
