Big Butts is a trail running event at the Mississippi College Choctaw Trails pavilion in Jackson, MS. The event features multiple race options run on 7.75 mile loops that use both cross country trails and Butts Park single track trails.

The course is mostly shaded and generally not technical, with about 170 feet of elevation gain per loop. There is ample space at the start area for personal aid, tents, coolers, and chairs. Two aid stations serve the course and finish area with water, Tailwind sports drink, and food.

Entry fees are listed by distance and MUTS members receive a discount. Registration closes on July 15 and T shirt size guarantees require registration by July 6. MUTS races do not offer refunds, transfers, or deferrals, and there is no race day registration or registration at packet pickup. Packet pickup is available at Buffalo Peak Outfitters and at the start area.

Time limits apply: longer events use a 14 hour time limit and the 25K has a 7 hour time limit. Relay teams may include two to four members and only one relay member may be on course at a time.
