The Muddy Shamrock @ The Forge takes place on March 14, 2026, at The Forge: Lemont Quarries, 227 Heritage Quarries Dr., Lemont, IL 60439. - Half Marathon - about 13.1 +/- miles (two laps)
- Quarter Marathon - about 6.6 +/- miles (one lap)
The course runs on wooded single- and double-track mountain bike trails and some gravel trails within The Forge and adjoining trail systems around the historic Lemont Quarries. Gravel sections are mostly flat. Single/double-track and MTB sections have variable terrain and surfaces, including dirt, grass, rocks, mud, roots, and stumps, with several short steep inclines and downhills. Trail running shoes are recommended.
There is a common start/finish line. For the half marathon there will be one aid station offering water and sports drinks near the start of the second lap; participants are advised to plan to carry their own hydration and fuel. Race entry fees include chip timing, overall and age-group awards, a Muddy Shamrock T-shirt, and access to a post-race party.
