Burlington, United States • 30 May 2026

Muddy Paws Fun Run 10K : Skagit County K9 Heroes Fund

The event is a noncompetitive fun run and walk that raises funds for the Skagit County K9 Heroes Fund, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit supporting local K9 units. Distances offered on the Port of Skagit Nature Trails include:

  • 2.1 miles fun run/walk
  • 5k (3.1 miles) fun run/walk
  • 10k (6.2 miles) fun run/walk

Runners and walkers are separated into running and walking groups for each distance. Those six groups are organized at the starting area and are staggered a few minutes apart to create space on the trails. Organizers will not record official race times or declare winners; participants may use personal apps or stopwatches for timing.

The course surface is small gravel, dirt, and grass and can include puddles. Registration fees in advance are listed for each distance and registrations are nonrefundable; transfers to another individual are permitted through the event coordinator. Automatic age-based student and senior discounts apply at checkout. A military, veterans, and first responders discount is available using a provided code.

Limited edition event t-shirts are offered with a deadline for orders to qualify for pick-up at the event. An after-party picnic is planned with a variety of food and drink items. Well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome; updated vaccinations and flea prevention are recommended. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
