Course and event details

The courses run entirely within Mt. Tom State Park on rugged single-track hiking trails. The solo 25k route includes about 3,600 feet of climbing. The 2-person relay splits the long route into roughly 8.3 miles and 6.7 miles; the relay exchange is at the upper pavilion (Lookout Aid Station). Relay teams must provide their own transportation to the exchange and use a safety vest or distinct costume as the relay baton.

Aid stations are provided at minimum every five miles and will offer water, energy drink, soda, and typical race food; hot soup may be provided if cold conditions are expected. Holyoke EMT crews will cover the start/finish and aid stations have communications with them. There are intermediary cut-offs and an overall time limit for the 25k. Early starts are available on request; early starters should be prepared to navigate before volunteers are in place. Athletes with disabilities are welcome and will follow general AWD rules. Prizes and age-group awards will be given in multiple categories. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
