Mt. Tom Trail Race
The Mt. Tom Trail Race takes place in the DCR Mt. Tom State Park in Massachusetts. The event features rugged single-track hiking trails through the forests of the Connecticut River Valley during the peak foliage season. Participants navigate hilly terrain with significant elevation changes throughout the park.
Available distances and categories include:
- 25 km Solo (approximately 13.5 miles)
- 25 km Two-person Relay

- 5 km Fun Run/Hike
The 25 km course involves 3,300 feet of elevation gain, while the 10 km includes 1,400 feet and the 5 km features 600 feet of climbing. For the relay, the legs are split into 7.4 miles and 6.1 miles, with the exchange point located at the Lookout Aid Station upper pavilion. Relay participants are responsible for their own transportation to the exchange point.
The race starts and finishes at Bray Lake, where parking is available. Aid stations are positioned approximately every five miles, offering water, energy drinks, and standard snacks such as fruit and pretzels. A six-hour cutoff remains in effect for the 25 km distance. Athletes with disabilities are welcome to participate following established AWD guidelines, and the use of running poles is permitted. All proceeds from the event benefit the Kestrel Land Trust to support land conservation and trail maintenance in the region. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
