Event Overview
Mrs. McCormick's Ice House is a winter trail race held at Ontario County Park (Gannett Hill) on January 16, 2027. The event is the second race in the Common Ground Winter Trail Series, a collaborative series between several running organizations.
Course and Distances
Participants run on a 4 mile loop course through the park, with the option to complete one, two, or three loops. The course is subject to change based on trail and weather conditions. A new snowshoe race will also be held if winter conditions permit.
Event Details
Race headquarters and check-in are at Wilson Lodge within the park. There is parking available nearby, and park roads will be plowed if necessary. The event is preceded by a series of other winter races in January and February.
Post-Race Amenities
After the race, athletes can gather at the heated Wilson Lodge, which has real restrooms and a fireplace. Post-race food includes freshly made buckwheat pancakes with local maple syrup, peanut butter, and hazelnut spread.
