The course is a roughly 4 mile loop designed to hit several park features while avoiding heavy snow and wind-prone spots. Participants may complete one, two, or three loops; the final loop decision can be made on race day. The course may change because of trail conditions, weather, or decisions by the Race Director.

Winter conditions are central to the event. Organizers note likely snow and ice and recommend aggressive tread or traction options and gaiters. The event materials also reference snowshoe activities and a demo, while stating that snowshoes are not permitted during the trail race itself.

Post-race provisions include a heated lodge with a fireplace, real restrooms, freshly made buckwheat pancakes with Naples Maple Farm maple syrup, hot chai, hot chocolate, warm apple cider, hydration options, fresh fruit, and snacks.

Registration has a single price with no increases, relaxed deadlines, and no fees for transfers, distance switching, deferrals, or refunds. Deferrals are available through January 15, 2027 and refunds through January 8, 2027. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
