Mount Rainier Half Marathon & 5K - Crystal Mountain Resort, WA

The event takes place July 17-18, 2026 at Crystal Mountain Resort in Enumclaw, Washington. It is a dirt-trail, multi-distance race weekend that is not wheelchair or stroller accessible. Course formats include a summit-to-base half marathon, a downhill 10K, and an uphill Hill Climb 5K. The half marathon covers 13.1 miles with about 2,400 ft of descent and follows forested trails, ridgelines, and meadows. The 10K follows much of the same downhill terrain over 6.2 miles. The Hill Climb 5K is an uphill course of roughly 3.1 miles with over 2,300 ft of gain and uses open rolling starts with chip timing. All race entries include all-day access to the resort gondolas after finishing.

Event logistics note an expo and bib pickup at Crystal Mountain Resort on the Friday of race weekend; bib pickup is also available near the half marathon start line on race morning. Camping options are offered on-site through the VR Campground with a range of primitive tent, car, and RV spots and specified check-in times. Timing is chip-based; overall award contenders must start in the first wave. The event practices cup-free racing and provides stations for reusable bottles, Nathan cups, or hydration packs and uses separate waste containers for compostables, recyclables, and other trash.
