Mount Rainier Trail Events

Mount Rainier Trail Events run over a race weekend on July 16 and 17, 2027 at Crystal Mountain near Mount Rainier. The event program features trail races on single-track, technical terrain. Most routes start near the summit and run downhill through forest, ridgelines, and alpine meadows. Every registration includes an all-day Crystal Mountain gondola pass, listed as a $55 value.

Distances

  • 13.1 miles Half Marathon, summit to base on forested and meadow trails
  • 10K, downhill single-track from the summit
  • 5K Hill Climb, an uphill trail to the summit

Weekend options include two multi-race challenges: the Sasquatch Double combines the 5K and the Half Marathon, and the Mountain Goat Triple combines the 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon. Challenge registrations include extra swag and additional finisher medals.

Logistics include an Expo and bib pickup at Crystal Mountain Resort Lot B on the Friday before the races. An official campground is available as a primitive gravel-lot site with tent and basic RV pricing; powered RV hookups are arranged separately through the resort. The event operates a cup-free, zero waste policy so runners should bring a reusable bottle, collapsible cup, or hydration pack. Cutoff times and on-course safety policies are enforced, and place medals plus finisher medals are awarded across overall and age group categories. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
