Mount Rainier Half Marathon
The Mount Rainier trail events take place at Crystal Mountain near Mount Rainier and include multiple trail distances over a single weekend. Every race uses technical single-track trails through old-growth forest, ridge lines, and alpine meadows. The downhill courses begin at the summit and descend toward the base, while the 5K is an uphill hill climb from the base to the summit. Registration for all distances includes an all-day gondola pass.
Distances
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- 10K
- 5K Hill Climb
The weekend offers multi-race challenge options that combine distances across the two days. Challenge registrations include extra swag items and additional finisher medals. The event operates a cup-free aid station policy: athletes should bring a reusable water bottle, a collapsible cup, or a hydration pack. Expo and bib pickup are held at Crystal Mountain Resort (Lot B) on the Friday of race weekend. Parking is provided in designated resort lots with volunteer direction on race morning. Primitive, gravel-lot campground options and no-hookup RV and van camping are available; powered RV hookups are managed separately by Crystal Mountain.
Cutoff times are strictly enforced for safety; participants who fall behind may be removed from course. All finishers receive finisher medals. Live results and event photos are published online after the races. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
