Mt Baldy Run to the Top - 61st Annual (September 7, 2026)
The 61st annual Mt Baldy Run to the Top is a mountain trail race held in the Angeles National Forest on Mt Baldy. The event is a fundraiser for San Antonio Canyon Town Hall and supports community projects, an emergency relief fund, the Mt Baldy School, the volunteer Mt Baldy Fire Department, and West Valley Search & Rescue.
The course covers 7+ miles with approximately 4,000 feet of elevation gain. The final mile is above timberline and the finish is on the summit at 10,064 feet. There are four water stations spaced at about two-mile intervals; the third station at the Devil's Backbone offers fruit and chips, and the summit station provides Gatorade. Medical support is provided by the Mt Baldy Fire Department and West Valley Search & Rescue positioned along the course. The event is held rain or shine.
Registration is $75 online through September 3, 2026, and $80 onsite on race day unless sold out; mail-in forms must be received by September 3. Payment options include cash, check, or credit; a 2.6% charge applies to credit card transactions. Registration includes a poly/cotton shirt (size not guaranteed after August 15), parking at the ski lifts, and a finisher medal available at the finish line; late finishers are not guaranteed a medal. The ski lift ride to the parking lot is not included. Packet pick-up is available on race day at the start line at the top of Mt Baldy Road.
Course record times are 1:00:29 (male, 2022) and 1:10:54 (female, 2022). Twenty percent of race proceeds are added to a perpetual grant for the Mt Baldy Fire Department for capital expenditures and planned expansion. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
