About the race
The Mt. Baldy Run to the Top is a trail running event owned by San Antonio Canyon Town Hall and held in the Angeles National Forest. The 62nd edition is planned for Labor Day, September 6, 2027. The course covers just over seven miles, beginning at the Ski Lifts parking lot entrance at about 6,000 feet and finishing on the summit of Mt.
Baldy at 10,064 feet. A 3.5 mile hike back to the lifts is required after finishing. The ski lift ride is not included. Event services include four aid and water stations, professional timing and published results, and a race shirt.
A finisher medal is issued only at the finish line and late finishers are not guaranteed a medal. Awards are given overall three deep for men and women and three deep by division. The event operates rain or shine and the organizer states a strict no refunds policy. Rules of conduct specify no earbuds, headphones or radios; no poles; no pets; runners must remain on the designated trail; returning finishers must yield to uphill traffic; and runners must not impede Mt.
Baldy Road. Registration can be completed online or by mail using the downloadable form, and gift certificates are offered for registration. A public notice about the 2026 event states that leaving about 100 water bottles on the summit violated the USFS special use permit. Going forward the event will follow pack it in, pack it out principles.
After overhead costs, race proceeds are used for community programs and donations that benefit local services and amenities. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
