Event

The Motion for Justice race is a 5k run along the Virginia Capital Trail near the James River at Rocketts Landing in Richmond, VA. The course is paved and flat. The event offers an in-person race and a virtual run option. Points from this race count toward the organizer’s Year-Long 5k and Back of the Pack series, and toward the Spring Series. The event is chip timed and finishers receive a medal and a technical (Dri-Fit) event shirt.

Logistics

Water is available at the 5k turnaround point (about 1.55 miles); Gatorade is available at some water stations. Port-a-johns are located in the parking lot near the start/finish. Packet pickup is available at the event; participants are advised to arrive about one hour before their event to check in. Race day registration is available, though shirt sizes cannot be guaranteed for same-day registrants. T-shirts are guaranteed for runners registered before May 6. Early registration pricing for the 5k is $30 until April 15 ($35 after April 15); prices increase on race morning by $5 per distance. Live results will be posted online and final results with series points are posted on the Monday following the race. Parking is near Rocketts Landing along the Virginia Capital Trail; a latitude/longitude meeting pin is provided by the organizer. Take on scenic new trails at Pocahontas State Park with a chip timed half marathon or 10K. Expect runnable singletrack, on course water stations, live results and race day age group awards in a festive park setting.
