MKK's Rugged Race Presented by Independence Bank

MKK's Rugged Race takes place on 08/01/2026 at Diamond Lake Resort in Owensboro, Kentucky. The event combines obstacle-course and trail running options. The main obstacle course is a 5K featuring 28 obstacles, including water crossings, barbed wire, rope climbs, and mud. An XTreme 10K combines a 5K trail run and a 5K obstacle course. Separate 5K and 10K trail runs are offered without obstacles.

The event includes distinct categories for the obstacle races. The Elite category is for competitors aiming for overall placement, and the Ultimate category accommodates teams or recreational participants. Youth races are split by age: Rugged Kids for ages 8 to 13 and Rugged Rascals for ages 4 to 7.

Registration fees listed by the organizer are $50 for most adult events, $35 for Rugged Kids, and $20 for Rugged Rascals. All participants receive a finisher’s medal and a t-shirt. Additional medals are awarded to the overall male and female winners in the Elite and Ultimate categories, and a trophy is presented to the top team.
