Run The Ridge Trail Race

The Run The Ridge Trail Race takes place on October 10, 2026 at the Bill Monroe Homeplace in Beaver Dam, Kentucky. The event includes trail distances of 5K, 10K, and 25K and begins and ends at the historic Homeplace location on Jerusalem Ridge.

The course follows dirt roads and overlooks associated with Bill Monroe and his family. Runners will encounter steep inclines and declines as the route climbs to the top of the ridge and returns. The route is described as winding high in the hills of old Kentucky and includes live bluegrass music on the course.

The event coincides with Bill Monroe Foundation activities such as Pickin' on the Porch and Camping and Jamming. A live bluegrass band will perform free of charge on the Homeplace porch in the evening, and there are communal jam sessions and camping throughout the weekend. Primitive camping is available free for runners and electrical sites are available for a small fee.

Registration fees listed in the event materials range from $25 to $50. Registrants who register by September 25, 2026 receive a special race shirt. All finishers receive a special finisher medal. Awards are given to the top three male and top three female finishers in each distance. A four hour and thirty minute cutoff applies.
