Miner 49er, Dubuque, IA
Miner 49er is an endurance trail event held at the Mines of Spain in Dubuque, Iowa. The event offers two distances:
- 50K
- 25K
The course is mostly single track with some double track and prairie trail. Runners will pass the Julien Dubuque Monument, Horseshoe Bluff, and views of the Mississippi River. The 25K is an out-and-back with approximately 2200 feet of elevation gain. The 50K covers the same route twice, with approximately 4400 feet of elevation gain. The route includes stone steps, stream crossings, and rocky, root-filled sections. There are three aid stations stocked with typical ultra-event nutrition.
Because the event takes place in a public park, participants may encounter non-race trail users. Pacers are not allowed for either distance. The cut off for both events is 5pm.
Packet pick up is at the EB Lyons Interpretive Center, 8991 Bellevue Heights Rd, with a session on Friday, November 6 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm and Saturday morning from 7:00 am to 7:45 am. No same day registration is available. Registration closes Wednesday, October 28 at 11:59 pm CT. Race registration fees are not refundable and registrations are not transferable. If a registered runner requests a distance change, procedures and fees apply and must be confirmed with the race director before the start of the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
