Course and race logistics

The course is in the Mines of Spain park and uses single track, some double track, and prairie trail. The 25k is an out-and-back with about 2200 feet of elevation gain. The 50k covers the 25k course twice for about 4400 feet of gain. Trail features include stone steps, stream crossings, rocks, and roots. There are three aid stations stocked with standard ultra-event nutrition. Because the race is in a public park, there may be non-race trail users on the course. Pacers are not allowed. Changing race distance after registration requires confirmation with the race director; switching 50k to 25k must be confirmed before the race and has no refund. Switching 25k to 50k requires verification and payment of the price difference. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
