Mines of Spain Trail Races

The Mines of Spain Trail Races take place in the Mines of Spain Recreation Area in Dubuque, Iowa. This event is held annually in August and features several distances on off-road paths. Participants can choose between different race lengths, all navigating the natural terrain of the recreation area. The event is part of the No Coast Trail Series.

The event activities begin on Friday with a packet pickup session and a free Mini-Mines Kid's Trail Race. On Saturday, the main trail races occur, departing from the EB Lyons location. After completing their distances, participants can attend a post-race gathering. This social event features food, including fresh brick oven pizza, and craft beer from local providers.

Timed four-hour and eight-hour loop trail races at Chestnut Mountain Resort with scenic river views, looped laps, post-race music and meal, included shirt and finisher medal, and awards for mileage and costumes.
