Trail Running in North Yorkshire
The Mind Over Moors Trail Race, also known as "The OG!", is a circular trail running event hosted at the Yorkshire Cycle Hub. This annual race takes place across the landscapes of the North Yorkshire Moors and serves the purpose of raising awareness for mental health and suicide prevention. The event is part of a series and is covered by the Association of Running Clubs (ARC).
Participants follow a route that is well marked throughout to prevent navigational issues. A portion of each entry fee is donated to a mental health charity. The event is open to runners aged 16 and older, with a total entry limit of 200 participants.
The event features the following distance:
- 10 km (approximately 6 miles) with 1100 ft of ascent
The race includes one aid station located roughly at the halfway point, providing refreshments to runners. On-site catering is available at the Yorkshire Cycle Hub, featuring a special menu for the day. Prizes are awarded to the overall winner, and additional prizes are distributed to random finishers based on their bib numbers. Registration for the event takes place on the morning of the race.
