Mid-State Mile

Mid-State Mile is a Last Runner Standing event held on private land near Franklin, Tennessee, at 9600 Big East Fork Rd. The course, called The Murder Mile, is roughly one mile per loop with about 340 feet of elevation gain per loop. Each loop includes two climbs, fast runnable sections, and an easy downhill through a field to the start and finish area. The surface is an old logging road with a wide double track.

Entry is managed via an initial selection process and a waitlist. The first 85 entries are added automatically; past participants of Mid-State and the Tennessee Mile are prioritized in the selection process. Organizers reserve discretionary spots and will confirm additional entries from the waitlist. Registration closes the day before the event. Training plans, camping gear, and race setup or tent rentals are available for purchase.

Key race rules include: runners must be in the starting corral at the start of each loop; they must leave the corral and take two steps past the starting line; runners who finish a loop later than the 20 minute limit are eliminated; and no runner may accept aid while on the course. Declaring a winner requires completion of a final solo victory lap within the time limit; if the last runner cannot complete that loop within the limit, no winner is declared.

No refunds or rollovers are issued. Pets are not allowed on site. Spectators are welcome but must follow event rules. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
