Mid-State Mile

The Mid-State Mile is a Last Person Standing running event. It takes place on June 20, 2026, on private land located at 9600 Big East Fork Rd in Franklin, Tennessee, approximately 20 minutes from downtown Franklin.

The event uses a one-mile loop course on an old logging road, which is a wide double track. The course, named "The Murder Mile," features 340 feet of elevation gain per loop. This includes two climbs with runnable sections between them and a downhill section through a field leading to the start/finish area.

Runners are given 20 minutes to complete each loop. They must be in the starting corral at the start of the next loop and must proceed past the starting line to begin. Runners who finish after the time limit are eliminated.

A winner is declared through a specific process. If only one runner completes a loop, they must then complete a final "Victory Lap" within the time limit to be declared the winner. If the last runner cannot complete a loop, there is no winner for the event.

Rules include:

  • No aid may be accepted by runners while on the course.
  • No pets are allowed on the property.
  • Spectators are welcome but must follow specific rules, available on the event's official website.

The organizers offer training plans for purchase, as well as camping gear and race setup rentals. The registration process involves a waitlist, with past participants from the Mid-State Mile and the Tennessee Mile event given priority selection. There are no refunds or rollovers for the event.
