Mid-State Mile

Mid-State Mile is a Last Person Standing loop event held on private land near Franklin, Tennessee, at 9600 Big East Fork Rd, Franklin TN 37064. The event runs on a one mile loop known as The Murder Mile. Each loop includes roughly 340 feet of elevation gain, two climbs, runnable sections between climbs, and an easy downhill through a field to the start and finish area. The surface is an old logging road with wide double track.

Runners must complete each loop within 20 minutes and be in the starting corral ready to start the next loop. At the start of a loop runners must leave the corral and take two steps past the starting line. Runners who finish a loop after the 20 minute limit are eliminated. No runner may accept aid while on the course. Declaring a winner requires completion of an additional solo "victory lap" within the time limit under specified conditions; if the last runner cannot complete that loop within the time limit, there will be no winner. Full rules address camping, spectators, runners, and crew.

Registration uses a waitlist and a tiered selection process. Confirmations begin January 3; an initial selection of roughly 85 entries will be added automatically, with past Mid-State and Tennessee Mile participants selected first and remaining slots filled mostly in waitlist order. Registration closes Fri, Jun 19. There are no refunds or rollovers. Camping gear, race setup and tent rentals, and training plans are offered for purchase. Pets are not allowed on site.
