Miccosukee Glades Runner
The Miccosukee Glades Runner is an annual road running event hosted by the Miccosukee Tribe that uses the Everglades National Park Shark Valley loop and routes to and from the Miccosukee Indian Village. The course is run entirely on pavement, and ultramarathoners run along sections of Loop Road.
Distances offered include:
- 5 kilometers
- 16.5 miles
- 50 kilometers
Each distance is supported by a combination of fully stocked aid stations and water stops. On-course support includes race monitors and tribal police. Finishers receive a Miccosukee Glades Runner finisher’s medal; the event also provides a race shirt, a runner goodie bag, and food at the finish. On-site activities for families include a live alligator show and other village attractions. Family members of participating runners receive free entry to the Miccosukee Indian Village on race day.
Race materials cover course descriptions and maps, the day’s schedule, race rules, aid station and drop bag details, and volunteer information. A 15 percent discount is offered for active duty military, first responders, full-time students, teachers, returning founders, and Native American runners; registration pages list discount details.
