Event format

Meyerhoff's Mayhem is a 48-hour endurance event featuring repeated short legs. Participants complete 4 miles every four hours for the 48-hour period, with an optional 2-mile add-on after the final leg.

Location, course and logistics

The event takes place at Big Woods Campground, 1501 E Lake St., Cedar Falls, Iowa, beginning Friday, Oct 17, 2025. The route starts from the tent area and uses some paved trails and the disc golf course, offering mixed terrain. Light meals and water are provided at each leg; examples of provisions include veggie broth, energy balls, donuts, bagels, bananas, apples, chicken noodle soup, sandwiches, chips, pasta salad, and GU energy products.

Teams may register as 48-hour relays (2-4 people) and can divide legs as they choose. Individual 48-hour entries and ruck participants are permitted; ruck weight is by participant choice. Personal lights are required for runs after dark. Pets are not allowed. Registrations placed after 9/12/25 are not guaranteed a shirt. Registration closes on Thu, Oct 16. Race sweatshirts are listed for participants, t-shirts for volunteers, and medals for finishers. The event has a no-refund policy. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
