Event Overview

The Mellor 10k Trail Run is a 10 km off-road race that raises funds for Mellor Lacrosse Club. The course is on the border of Stockport and the High Peak and has approximately 300 meters of elevation gain. It is described as hilly but runnable.

Course Description

The route starts with a short section on closed roads before moving onto the tracks and trails of the River Goyt valley. It runs relatively flat to Strines before a steady climb past The Fox Inn at Brookbottom and over Mellor Moor. From the high point near the Mellor Cross, the course descends via Mellor Golf Course and the hamlet of Tarden, finishing with a section through Knowle Woods. The finish line is at Mellor Sports Club. The terrain includes paths, tracks, open farmland, short sections on country lanes, stiles, and steps. The course is fully waymarked and marshalled, with chip timing provided.

Event Details

Registration and race pack collection takes place at Mellor Sports Club on the day of the event. There is no on-the-day entry, no water station on the course, and no parking available at the sports club. Runners must provide their own water if needed. An event memento is given to all finishers, and a professional race photographer is on the course. Post-run food and drink is available for purchase at the sports club. The event has a time limit of 2 hours and is open to runners aged 16 and over. The entry fee is £18.50. No dogs are allowed on the course.
