MeadowGold 11K & 5K - Meadow Mountain, Minturn, CO
MeadowGold 11K & 5K is the final race in the Vail Recreation District's Vail Trail Running Series, presented by the Town of Minturn. The event takes place on Meadow Mountain in Minturn, Colorado, and follows singletrack and dirt trail across mountain meadows and historic homesteads.
The long course (~10.6K / 6.6 miles) climbs technical singletrack on West Grouse Trail with multiple stream crossings and fields of wildflowers, reaches a high point near the race midpoint, then descends on Line Shack Trail with open views of Vail Mountain and the Gore Range. The short course (~3.1 miles) includes about a 1.5 mile ascent on Line Shack Trail through meadows and past old homesteads, followed by a turnaround and descent to the finish.
Course stats are based on a GPX file and may vary by device. Key figures include a long-course elevation gain of 1,362 feet and a short-course gain of 553 feet. Surfaces are primarily singletrack and dirt trail with notable maximum grades on both routes. Aid stations provide water on course and Skratch hydration; participants are encouraged to use reusable hydration devices as this is a minimal waste series. Finish-line provisions include donuts, fresh fruit, and custom race t-shirts. Racer parking is located at the Town of Minturn train yard across Highway 24, a short walk to the Meadow Mountain Parking Lot. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
