Event Overview

This event takes place on February 14, 2026, at Golden Road Vineyards in State Road, North Carolina. It is the fifth-year Mardi Gras celebration, with a theme focused on Mardi Gras rather than Valentine's Day.

Course Details

The 5K course is run on grass and cross-country style terrain in and around the vineyards. The race uses chip timing for the start and finish. Water stations are provided approximately every 1.5 miles along the route.

Post-Race & Awards

Participants crossing the finish line enter a Southern-style brunch with an a-la-carte menu. Each finisher receives a Mardi Gras themed mimosa and a bead souvenir. Water and juice are available for those under 21. In the afternoon, the celebration continues with Cajun cuisine and live music from 2 to 5 PM.

Awards are given to the top finishers in multiple categories:

  • Top 3 Overall Men/Women
  • Top 3 Overall Masters (40+)
  • Top 3 Overall Grand Masters (50+)
  • Top 3 Overall Senior Masters (60+)
  • Top 3 in each 5-year age group, from 10 & Under through 80+

Registration & Logistics

Packet pickup occurs on race morning starting one hour before the race start. Regular registration is $35 for all event types, with price increases after February 7, 2026. Race day registration is available for $40 for the 5K and Sip & Stroll. Participants registered by February 4 are guaranteed race swag in their requested size; after that, items are available while supplies last.

A 25K trail race at Pilot Mountain State Park featuring a climb to the Pinnacle, three full aid stations, a technical long sleeve shirt, and a laser-engraved finisher medallion. Field limited to 125 runners and registration closes Feb 19.
