Massanutten Mountain Trails 100 Mile Run
The Massanutten Mountain Trails 100 Mile Run is a 100-mile trail ultramarathon held in the Massanutten Mountains within the George Washington National Forest in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley. The event is based at Caroline Furnace Lutheran Camp in Fort Valley, VA.
The course is rocky and includes short but rugged mountain climbs that total more than 18,000 feet of ascent. A 36-hour cutoff applies to the race. The event page and a Participants’ Guide provide detailed logistical information for runners, crews, and pacers; the guide is recommended for printing or saving to a mobile device.
The host club organizes four training runs on the MMT course in the months before the race, beginning on Martin Luther King weekend in January and usually extending into April. Volunteers support aid stations and race operations. The event follows the organizing club’s event participant medical policy and policy on race cancellation.
Information available for the event includes schedule details, drop bag procedures, crew instructions, pacer rules, solo division rules, on-site and off-site lodging options, emergency instructions, and historical results and records. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
