Massanutten Mountain Trails 100 Mile Run

Fort Valley, United States • 16 May 2026

Event overview

The Massanutten Mountain Trails 100 Mile Run is a trail ultramarathon of 100 miles held in the Massanutten Mountains in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley. The race takes place in Fort Valley, VA, with the start and finish at Caroline Furnace Lutheran Camp. The event uses a 36-hour cutoff for the course.

Course and logistics

The course is rocky and includes short, rugged mountain climbs with total ascent of over 18,000 feet. Participants are required to carry a GPS tracking device while on the course. Official finish times are recorded live by volunteer timekeepers rather than by GPS data. The race offers aid stations and marked trails along the route. The organizing club sponsors a series of training runs on the course in the months before the race; these runs begin on MLK weekend in January and usually continue into April.

Entry and refunds

Entry opened on October 31, 2025, with no lottery. Registration is listed as closing April 29. Refund rules: March 1, 2026 is the last day for a refund minus $25; April 16, 2026 is the last day for a refund minus $100, provided the entrant list has at least 250 entrants and there is a waitlist to draw from.
