Run for the Springs

Run for the Springs is the 15th annual 5K presented by Airport Trail Run and scheduled at Marion County Airport in Dunnellon, Florida on Feb. 27, 2027. The event features a course run on the airport tarmac and includes post-race refreshments and a community atmosphere.

Registration is offered online with a stated fee of $30 per participant. Registered entrants are listed to receive a T-shirt and a bag of goodies while supplies last. Awards include special medals for the top three male and female finishers in each age group and medals for top finishers in each age division. A team competition ranks teams by the fastest average time of their top three runners; the fastest team is awarded the Traveling Cup.

Proceeds from the 5K are directed to a septic maintenance reimbursement grant program for Marion County residents. The program offers two grant types: reimbursement up to $200 for septic system pump-out and inspection, and reimbursement up to $250 toward a septic repair permit when a copy of the permit is provided. The page notes that Marion County has over an estimated 124,000 septic tanks and highlights these grants as a local funding effort tied to the event.

Sponsorship options are available at multiple levels and include recognition on printed and online materials, placement on T-shirts and signage, and opportunities for vendor tent space. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
