Course and logistics

All courses begin with a steep climb up the hill; most elevation is gained on that initial climb. The 10 Mile loop is about 10.3 miles; the 20 Mile and 50K repeat that loop 2 and 3 times, respectively (the 50K is about 30.9 miles). Elevation gain per course is listed as: 5K - 650 ft, 10M - 1800 ft, 20M - 3600 ft, 50K - 5400 ft. The route includes undulating forest trails, creek crossings, rough rocky sections, slippery bridges, and a short technical descent near the finish. Aid stations are located at the following miles: 10M at 4.5; 20M at 4.5, 10, 14.5; 50K at 4.5, 10, 14.5, 20, 24.5.

Due to limited parking, 5K and 10 Mile participants park at Monroe High School and use a continuous shuttle; 20 Mile and 50K participants may park at the start/finish area. Trails remain open to other users, including equestrians, pedestrians, and cyclists. Finisher awards are handmade and produced using solar power. The event supports local trail stewardship and offers a Trees not Tees option. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
