Course and logistics
All distances begin with a steep initial climb on the same trail. The 5K course separates from the longer loop after the climb and returns to the finish via the Midway Trail. The 10M, 20M, and 50K follow a larger loop that includes undulating forest trails, a creek crossing, lake views, rough rocky sections, a short technical descent, and a couple of slippery bridges. The 10-mile lap is used repeatedly for the 20M and 50K. The course will be marked with streamers and arrows.
Due to limited parking, 5K and 10-mile participants park at Monroe High School and use a shuttle to the start/finish area; only 20M and 50K participants may park at the start. The event is cupless - participants must carry a refillable container. Aid stations are placed on the loop (10M: 4.5 mi; 20M: 4.5, 10, 14.5 mi; 50K: 4.5, 10, 14.5, 20, 24.5 mi). Every finisher receives a handmade award produced with solar power. Trails remain open to other users during the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
