Longhorn Last Person Standing
Longhorn Last Person Standing is a Last Person Standing running event held near Dripping Springs, Texas, at 2705 Gatlin Creek Road. The event uses a repeated loop format rather than a fixed finish line.
Every hour, on the hour, a bell signals the start of a loop. Participants must complete a 4.0 mile loop with about 200 feet of elevation gain within 60 minutes. Any time remaining after a loop may be used for rest and recovery. The race continues until only one participant remains; that person is the only official finisher and all other participants receive a DNF participation award.
Key rules state that loops begin every hour and runners must be at the start/finish when the bell rings. Missing a loop start or failing to complete a loop in the allotted time results in disqualification. Pacers are not permitted. Crew may attend only at the start/finish and may not access the course. Aid is available at the start/finish only, so participants must carry what they need while on the loop. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
