Long Wittenham 5km Family Fun Run & Walk 2026

This community event on Sunday 14 June 2026 is a rural 5 km cross country fun run and walk around Long Wittenham. The course uses clearly signed and marshalled footpaths through Neptune and Paradise Wood and returns to The Plough where drinks, food and a fund-raising barbecue will be available to purchase. There is a drinks station approximately halfway and first aid cover provided.

The route is off road through countryside and may suit sturdy buggies if ground conditions are dry. There is one road crossing which will be marshalled. Well behaved dogs on leads may accompany walkers only. Children under 8 must be accompanied on the course and entrants under 16 require a parent or guardian's permission. All entrants must follow marshals' instructions at all times.

Category awards are offered for boys and girls in youth bands and for men and women in age groups, including 18 to 39, 40 to 64 and 65 and over. A separate fastest villager competition is open to current or former Long or Little Wittenham residents and to village school attendees. Entry is limited to 250 participants. Online entries close 12 June 2026 and some on the day entries may be available subject to capacity. Advance and on the day entry fees vary by age and family ticket options. Number cards are reserved for advance entrants and must be worn on the front of all participants. A short warm up to music is planned before the event.
