The Hampshire Hoppit

The Hampshire Hoppit stages trail races that start and finish at Watership Down on the Hampshire and Berkshire border. Each course is a clearly marked, single lap route run mainly off road on wide footpaths. Courses reach some of the highest points in Hampshire and offer views across the county; there are occasional quiet road sections that are marshalled and staffed by race marshals.

Distances offered:

  • Marathon: single lap trail route including Watership Down, Wayfarers Walk and The Harrow Way
  • Half marathon: single lap trail route including Watership Down, Wayfarers Walk and The Harrow Way
  • 10K: predominantly along the footpaths and trails of Watership Down

Race services and logistics include chip timing, professionally managed road crossings, ample water and feed stations, free parking, and a Race HQ field with refreshments and services. Entry benefits listed for participants include a goody bag, a finishers medal, free professional race photographs, a keepsake beer glass and a real ale or soft drink option, plus race prizes and sponsor prizes. Merchandise profits are allocated to the Hampshire and Isle Of Wight Air Ambulance. Minimum age requirements are specified for each distance.
