Event Format
The Lone Star Trail Murph is an event combining running and calisthenics, structured around a "Murph" workout. The main challenge consists of a 1-mile trail run, followed by a calisthenics circuit, and finishes with another 1-mile trail run.
The event takes place on Northshore Trail in Flower Mound, Texas. The first run uses sections of "loop 5," while the second run uses a section of "loop 1."
Divisions and Distances
The event features several categories and standalone running events:
- Novice: 1-mile run, 100 ring rows, 200 knee push-ups, 300 air squats, 1-mile run.
- Intermediate: 1-mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 air squats, 1-mile run.
- Elite: 1-mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 air squats, 1-mile run. Participants wear a weighted vest (women 14 lb, men 20 lb).
- 5k Trail Race (footrace only).
- 10k Trail Race (footrace only).
- 5k Ruck: A ruck march with a weighted pack (women 20+ lb, men 30+ lb).
