The course uses natural, unpaved paths with rocky sections and elevation changes, including occasional steep climbs and descents near river and waterfall areas. Races are run as looped laps for each distance: the 50k uses five loops, the 25k three loops, the 10k two loops, and the 5k one loop.

Two full aid stations are located on course and are stocked with drinks, sodas, sweets, salty snacks, PB&Js and warm foods such as quesadillas and soups. Medical supplies are available but nonsteroidal anti inflammatory drugs are not provided. The event operates cupless aid stations; participants are expected to use reusable bottles or hydration systems. Drop bags are allowed at both aid stations. Pacers are not permitted; crew access is allowed at both locations.

Packet pickup is available at Trailhead Running Supply and at the race start area. Participants receive race merchandise and medals; to receive a medal for a given distance a participant must finish that distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
