Live Oak Odyssey is a fixed-time trail running event at O'Neill Regional Park in Trabuco Canyon, CA (30892 Trabuco Canyon Road). The event offers two timed options:

  • 6-hour fixed-time event
  • 3-hour fixed-time event

Each lap is approximately 2.75 miles with about 500 feet of vertical gain per loop. The event date is Saturday, October 11, 2025. Registration closes Monday, October 6, 2025. Race entries include chip timing, a gender-specific race shirt (guaranteed if ordered by September 1), post-race food, and a finisher award. Unique awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers.

Course and logistics

The course is a loop that uses Arroyo Trabuco Trail, Live Oak Trail, Coyote Canyon Trail and Coyote Trail and will be marked with ribbons. Terrain includes uphills, downhills, single track and double track. Vegetation in the park includes coast live oak, sycamore, cactus, wild buckwheat, sagebrush and chaparral species such as scrub oak and mountain mahogany. The start/finish area contains the main aid station with sweet and salty snacks, PB&J, fresh fruit, potatoes, Coke, ginger ale, Tailwind hydration, GU salt capsules and anti-chafe salve from Squirrel's Nut Butter. Drop bags will be available near the aid station. Parking at the park requires a $5 fee; crews must remain at the main aid station.
