Live Oak Odyssey : O'Neill Regional Park, Trabuco Canyon, CA

Live Oak Odyssey is a fixed-time trail running event held on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at O'Neill Regional Park in Trabuco and Live Oak Canyons. The event uses a marked loop of approximately 2.75 miles with roughly 500 feet of elevation gain per loop and varied terrain that includes uphills, downhills, single track and double track.

The venue is heavily wooded with coast live oak and sycamore trees. Surrounding hillsides feature cactus, wild buckwheat, sagebrush and chaparral vegetation such as scrub oak, buckthorn and mountain mahogany.

There is one primary aid station at the start/finish offering sweet and salty snacks, PB&J, fresh fruit, potatoes, Coke, ginger ale, GU Roctane salt pills, hydration and electrolytes from Tailwind Nutrition, salt capsules from GU Energy, and anti-chafe salve from Squirrel's Nut Butter. Crews may assist runners at the main aid station but must remain at their vehicle and not use aid station tables for eating.

Additional details include required $5 parking at the park (exact change recommended), a designated drop bag tent near the aid station, race rules requiring full loops to count, no pacers, and no pets on course. Nixon 5K for Title IX on June 20, 2026 in Yorba Linda features a 5K and a 1K kids run along El Cajon Trail. The family-friendly event includes commemorative medals, race bibs, a 5K race shirt, and a Nixon Library admission.

A free social, non-competitive group run in Newport Coast on May 30, 2026, organized by Aravaipa and OC Trail Runners. The route is about 5.5 miles with 500 feet of gain, includes rocky sections, and finishes with snacks and a raffle.

Into the Wild is a 5k trail run at Saddleback Wilderness on July 15, 2026, over fire roads and single track with 300 ft of elevation gain. Entry is limited to 150 runners and there is no race day registration.
