Little Star Fun Run and Festival

The Little Star Fun Run and Festival is a community event held in Winthrop to support the Little Star Financial Aid program. Participants can choose to run, jog, walk, or stroll along the Susie Stephens Trail and paths managed by Methow Trails. The event is designed to accommodate various ages and physical abilities, ranging from young children and early walkers to more experienced runners.

The event offers several distance options on the trail system:

  • 1 1/2 miles
  • 5K course length

Following the track activities, a Spring Festival takes place at the Little Star Winthrop Campus. This portion of the event includes organized entertainment and social activities such as a cake walk, various games, and live music. Food is available for participants and visitors during the festival. Check-in for the various run distances takes place prior to the trail activities, and pre-registration is available for those planning to attend. Enjoy the Sunflower Relay, Half or Full Marathon through Methow Valley between Mazama and Twisp, running amid wildflower fields and private land open only for the event. Enter solo or as a 2 to 5 person relay team.

The Cutthroat Classic is an 11 mile trail run on the Pacific Crest Trail through the North Cascades. It features a wave start, mountain views, and is a cupless event. Proceeds support local trail maintenance.
