Little Duck 50k
Little Duck 50k is a trail race in Windham, ME, held at the East Windham Conservation Area with parts of the course passing through the Lowell Preserve. The event offers two distances:
- 50k: five 6.5 mile loops (32.5 miles total)
- 10k: one loop
The 50k is run as repeated laps that start and finish at the EWCA parking lot and follow the Purple, Red, and Blue trails. There are two aid stations per loop, including one at the parking lot at the Lowell Preserve and one at the EWCA start/finish. Aid stations provide snacks, water, and electrolyte drinks. Volunteers track runner progress. The race has a no runner left behind policy and organizers remain until the final finisher crosses the line.
Each loop includes roughly 900 feet of elevation gain. The race size for the first year is expected to be between 10 and 50 runners. Runners receive a cotton Hanes t-shirt upon completion. Registration closes Sat, Oct 17 @ 11:59PM ET. Partial completion is recorded by distance completed; for example, three loops are recorded as a 30k result.
