Turquoise Lake 20K

The Turquoise Lake 20K is a clockwise loop around Turquoise Lake that combines paved road and single track trail. The course begins with hilly paved road for approximately 6.5 to 7.5 miles, followed by about 5.5 miles of single track dirt trail. Runners will pass through settings on National Forest lands and on county roads.

The event is scheduled for May 30, 2026. Registration for adults is listed at $40, and youth 17 and under may enter free. Proceeds from the event benefit youth athletics and recreation programs, including activities such as Children’s Fishing Day and Leadville Nordic.

A special use permit for the event has been issued by the US Forest Service Leadville Ranger District, and the Lake County Commissioners have granted permission for use of county roads. The course uses public forest and county road corridors and starts near the Matchless Boat Ramp area at Turquoise Lake. Basic directions provided by the organizer note access from Harrison Avenue via 6th Street and County Road 4, with signs directing to the Matchless Boat Ramp.

Previous editions of the event have recorded results for multiple years, and the event has been organized by the local sports hall of fame group to support community recreation programs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
