The LHT 5K is the first annual running event taking place in Pennington, New Jersey on May 2, 2026, at 422 Federal City Rd. The event program includes the following distances:

The 5K course runs along the Lawrence Hopewell Trail and surrounding park paths, passing two lakes and the Hunt House. The Lawrence Hopewell Trail is a 20-mile multi-use trail that connects Lawrence and Hopewell Townships. Proceeds from the event support trail maintenance, community programs, and events that promote healthy recreation, alternative transportation, and access to the outdoors for all.
Registrants receive a race t-shirt. Packet pickup will be available on race morning. Free parking is provided near the start and finish area in Rosedale Park; carpooling is recommended to reduce congestion and environmental impact.
Awards are planned for the top overall male and female finishers and for top finishers by age group. A post race celebration will feature refreshments, music, and local community partners. The event is scheduled to take place rain or shine; in the event of severe weather participant safety is the primary concern and no refunds will be issued for weather-related cancellations or course modifications.
