Event overview
The 1/2 Sauer 1/2 Kraut is a road race in Pennypack Park, Philadelphia, offering a half marathon (13.1 Miles) and a full marathon (26.2 Miles). The event donates a portion of entry fees to park support and local charities and partners with a charity that receives donated race entries for fundraisers.
Course, logistics and services
The course runs along the Pennypack Creek on a paved bike path with mostly shaded sections, no vehicle traffic, a midsection of short steep rolling hills and a trail segment. Aid stations: 6 for the half and 13 for the full; Gatorade and water are provided and energy gels are available at Mile 8 and Mile 21. Timing uses disposable chip timing and mile markers are posted. Packet pickup is on race day at the Ed Kelly Amphitheater. Free parking is available at the park or nearby neighborhoods.

Time limit is 6 hours 30 minutes for both distances (required average pace about 14:53 per mile). Walkers are welcome for the half; the marathon is not recommended for walkers.
