The Laurel Highlands Ultra is a set of point to point trail races based in Ohiopyle, Pennsylvania, within Laurel Ridge State Park. The event includes long and shorter distances that run along the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail and finish at designated points along the route.

The event scheduled for June 13, 2026 marks the forty-seventh running of the 70.5 mile race and the twenty-first running of the 50K race. The 70.5 mile races run the full length of the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail to Route 56 in Seward, PA. The 50K races finish at the 31 mile point near the intersection of Route 31. All races are point to point.

Entry allocations for 2026 are stated as follows:

  • 70.5 Miler, 210 spots; registration offered in three batches of 70 spots each.
  • 70.5 Relay, 15 team spots.
  • 50K, 250 individual spots.
  • 50K Relay, 15 team spots.

Trail runs nearby

Nighttime trail runs at Coopers Rock State Forest with a 50 km route of about 5000 feet of gain and a 21 km half marathon of about 2000 feet. Aid stations, mandatory lighting, tracking via app, and a 250 entry cap shape the event.

Experience a fast and flat race on the Coal and Coke Trail in Pennsylvania. Run a ten or thirty mile course featuring crushed gravel paths, organic aid stations, and unique handmade finisher medals.

Rattlerock Ultra in Coopers Rock State Forest on July 25, 2026 offers 50k and 25k looped courses on rocky, technical trails. The 50k includes nearly 6,000 feet of elevation gain and multiple aid stations.
