The Laurel Highlands Ultra is a point to point trail event held in Ohiopyle, PA, on June 13, 2026. The event includes a long 70.5 mile individual race that follows the entire length of the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail to Route 56 in Seward, PA, and a 50K race that finishes near the 31 mile point by Route 31. Races start in Ohiopyle and use point to point course routing.

The event provides individual and relay options and publishes specific entry limits. Entry allocations for 2026 include 210 spots for the 70.5 mile individual race (three separate registration opportunities of 70 spots each) and 250 spots for the 50K. Team entries are limited to 15 teams for the 70.5 mile relay and 15 teams for the 50K relay. A new trail event on the Coal & Coke Trail near Mt Pleasant, PA, offering 30- and 10-mile options on a flat, crushed-gravel 5 mile out-and-back loop with two aid stations, handmade medals, and a raccoon theme.

A trail ultramarathon at Coopers Rock State Forest offering 50k and 25k on rocky, technical trails. The 50k includes almost 6,000 feet of elevation gain and multiple aid stations.

An overnight team relay at Big Bear Lake in Bruceton Mills, WV, with tree-lined trails through ferns and pines. Teams of 2, 4, or 8 cover 117 miles total over two days and one night, with camping and village amenities.

Participate in a 5K run or walk at the Somerset Historical Center to support the North Star Cross Country team. Enjoy a dedicated cross country course with awards for various age groups and included event t-shirts.
