Laurel Highlands Ultra
The Laurel Highlands Ultra is a series of point to point trail races held along the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail in Pennsylvania. Races start in Ohiopyle and run along the full trail to Seward for the longest distance; the 50K finishes near the 31 mile point before Route 31. The event is held annually on the second Saturday in June. The 2026 running is listed as the forty seventh running of the 70.5 mile race and the twenty first running of the 50K.
Race options include:
- 70.5 mile individual and relay; total 210 spots
- 50K individual; 250 spots
- Relays 70 mile and 50K with 15 team spots each
Registration opens on an unannounced date in late November or early December and uses multiple entry waves for the 70.5 mile to allocate the 210 spots. The 50K and relay registrations open with the first 70 mile registration and remain open until filled. There are no deferrals to the following year. Refund and waitlist deadlines are published and include a February 28 last day for full refund with no ultrasignup fee refunds, a March 1 first day for waitlist entries, an April 30 last day for 50 percent refunds, and a June 6 last day for waitlist entries if spots remain.
Organizers coordinate a spring volunteer trail day in partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. The event materials include an acknowledgement of the original homelands of the Monongahela, Shawnee and other nomadic nations and state an inclusive welcome for participants of diverse backgrounds.
