Last Stand 1776 Backyard Ultra and Mini Ultra

The Last Stand 1776 Backyard Ultra and Mini Ultra takes place June 13 and 14, 2026 in Midlothian, Virginia at Loch Lothian, 13501 Midlothian Tpke. The event includes a full Backyard Ultra and a Mini Backyard Ultra option.

The Backyard Ultra format requires runners to complete a 4.14 mile loop every hour. Each loop must be finished within the one hour time limit and the runner must return to the start line before the bell to continue. Missing the cutoff ends that runner's race. Runners may stop after any completed loop, so total distance depends on how many loops a runner completes.

The event benefits the Semper Fi Fund and America's Fund, which provide assistance to wounded, ill, and injured service members, veterans, and their families. The course features trails, bridges, and lakeside views around Loch Lothian.

Prizes and items noted for participants include a cash prize and the Sword of Honor for the last runner standing, and all entrants receive a custom race shirt, a belt buckle, and race swag.
