Lakeland Trails Marathon, Half Marathon and Mini-10k in Coniston

The event offers three marked and marshalled trail races around Coniston Water: a full marathon, a half marathon and a 10k mini-marathon. The marathon course makes a complete circuit of Coniston Water and passes Tarn Hows and Beacon Tarn, with long views of the Old Man, Swirl How, Wetherlam and Dow Crags. The half marathon uses the first section of the marathon route as far as Tarn Hows before returning to Coniston. The 10k route includes a circuit of Tarn Hows and a fast tree-lined descent to the event village.

Course and services

  • Marathon - 42 km, circuit of Coniston Water and multiple feed stations
  • Half Marathon - 21 km, feed stations at 8.8 km and 15.5 km
  • Mini 10k - 10 km, scenic loop via Tarn Hows
