24 Hours on the Trails
24 Hours on the Trails is a timed trail event at Leighton Hall in the Silverdale and Arnside Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The event takes place on 26 September 2026 and offers three entry formats: Individual, Pairs and Teams. Minimum ages are 18 for Individual and Pairs entries and 16 for Teams. Teams may comprise between 3 and 12 people.
The looped course measures 5.75 km, stays within the Leighton Hall estate and does not use public roads. Surfaces include grass, packed trail and some gravel, with a couple of hills and wooded sections. For variety the course direction alternates periodically.
Every competitor wears a timing chip and must cross a half way timing point for each lap to register. Live timing will be available and results include lap counts. Prizes will be awarded in Open and Vet categories and for total time spent on the course. There is an option to add a medal; if a medal is not ordered its cost will support Cumbria Wildlife Trust.
Camping is for competitors only and offers basic facilities including cold water and toilets. Small campervans are permitted but motor homes cannot be accommodated. Car parking is a short distance from the campsite and re-entry is restricted during the event. Competitor safety is supported by on-site medical cover. Competitors on the course during hours of darkness must carry a working headtorch; phone torches are not acceptable. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
