24 Hours on the Trails : Leighton Hall
24 Hours on the Trails takes place within the grounds of Leighton Hall in the Silverdale and Arnside Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The event is organised as a 24-hour challenge on a single off-road loop. The loop is 5 km long, relatively flat, and event organisers will alternate the running direction during the weekend.
Entries are offered for Individuals, Couples and Teams. Individuals and Couples have a minimum age of 18; Teams can be any size between 3 and 12 runners with a minimum age of 16. For Couples and Teams only one person is allowed on the course at a time except during the celebration lap. Participants may run or walk at any time during the 24 hours and can choose how long each stint lasts, including running through the night.
Prizes will be available for those who cover the furthest distance and for those who spend the most time on their feet. The event includes on-site activities for participants when they are not on the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
