L100 Recce 2: Ambleside to Coniston

This is an evening recce for the Montane Lakeland 50 and 100 series, held on 17 January 2026. The recce covers the Ambleside to Coniston section of the course and is run in the evening to mirror how many competitors will encounter this section during the main race.

The section distance is 16 miles. Full kit is required as per the event route requirements and there are cut off times at checkpoints, so participants must be fit enough to meet those cut offs before starting the recce. The recce fee is £30 and includes coach transport, medical support and basic refreshments at checkpoints. Full event details are sent to registered participants one week before the date.

Entry is restricted to competitors who have a confirmed place in the Lakeland 100 or Lakeland 50 2026. Entries opened on 25 September 2025 and close on 15 January 2026. The minimum age for the event is 18 on the event date.

The start location is Ambleside Primary School, Vicarage Road, Ambleside, Cumbria LA22 9DH. The organiser runs a series of recce days for different course sections on other dates during the season. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
