The Lake Mohegan Women’s Trail Race is a women-only trail running event held at Lake Mohegan in Fairfield, CT on April 25, 2026. The event aims to increase awareness of trail running opportunities for women and is also open to non-binary runners. In 2025 the event attracted more than 130 runners. The course uses a variety of runnable trails around the lake and a GPX file and course map are provided.

Race details

Three event options are offered:

  • 5K
  • 10K
  • 4 Hour - as many miles as a participant can complete on the 5K loop

Registration fees vary by date; typical ranges are: 5K $30–$40, 10K $40–$50, 4 Hour $60–$80. Packet pickup and race day registration are available. The event is cupless to reduce waste. Water and/or SKRATCH electrolyte drink will be available at the start/finish aid station for 4 Hour runners and for 10K runners before their second loop. There will be no aid station on course for 5K runners.

Swag and awards include a finisher medal from Ragged Cuts and awards for the top three finishers in each event. The organizer states there are no refunds or bib transfers. Parking is available onsite and race headquarters will be located in the field east of the parking lot. The site notes typical late April temperatures near 60 F high and lows in the 40s. Join Run for the Rescue on April 11, 2026 for a scenic 5K through Blydenburgh County Park with on site and virtual options. Tackle varied trails, enjoy post race refreshments, and support Last Chance Animal Rescue.
