Lake Mohegan Women’s Trail Race : Fairfield, CT

The Lake Mohegan Women’s Trail Race is a women’s-only trail running event that also welcomes non-binary runners. It takes place at Lake Mohegan in Fairfield, Connecticut on April 25, 2026, and is organized by Steep Endurance. Entry fees are listed in a range of USD 30 to 80 depending on distance and registration period.

Three distances are offered:

  • 5K loop course
  • 10K (two laps of the 5K loop)
  • 4 hour event (complete as many 5K loops as possible in the allotted time)

The 5K loop is described as generally runnable with good footing and a few short, steep sections. Course maps and a GPX file for the 3.2 mile loop are available. Aid will be provided at the start/finish area, with water and an electrolyte drink for 4 hour participants and for 10K runners before their second loop; there will be no on-course aid station for 5K runners. The event operates a cupless policy to reduce waste.

Event rules emphasize runner safety: stay on the marked course, be aware of natural hazards such as roots and rocks, avoid littering on town property, and notify course marshals when withdrawing. Race entries are not transferable and refunds are not available. Finisher medals by Ragged Cuts and awards for top finishers are part of the post-race recognition. Post-race provisions include bagels, fruit, muffins, and pre-packaged snacks. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
