Lake Mohegan Women's Trail Race
The Lake Mohegan Women's Trail Race is a women-centered trail running event held in Fairfield, Connecticut, at Lake Mohegan. The event is open to women and non-binary runners and takes place on a network of runnable trails around a 3.2 mile loop. Hikers are also welcome.
Three event formats are offered:
- 5K
- 10K
- 4 Hour on the 5K loop, where participants run or walk as many laps as possible within the time limit
A downloadable GPX file of the 3.2 mile loop is available. Aid support follows a cupless policy to reduce waste; water and an electrolyte drink are provided at the start/finish aid station for 4 Hour runners and for 10K runners before their second loop. There is no on-course aid station for 5K runners.
Entry fees vary by event and by registration period, with price tiers listed for early, mid, and late registration. The organizer’s stated refund policy specifies no refunds and no transfers of race entries or bibs.
Event rules emphasize runner safety and course integrity: staying on the marked course is mandatory, notifying a course marshal when dropping from the race is required, no littering on Town of Fairfield property, and the use of personal music devices is strongly discouraged. Finishers receive a specially designed medal and top-three awards are given in each event. Post-race refreshments include bagels, fruit, muffins, pre-packaged snacks, and beverages.
