Knaresborough Crag Rat Run 2026

The Knaresborough Crag Rat Run is a five mile multi terrain road and trail race held in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire on 27 September 2026. The course encircles the River Nidd and is described as undulating, with approximately half the route on tarmac. The race starts and finishes at Knaresborough Cricket Club.

The route descends the crag onto a tarmaced riverside section, passes through woodland, returns via a fast tarmaced stretch to a narrow path beside the river, crosses the bridge near the Petrifying Well and then ascends back up the crag toward the finish. Finishers receive a medal and a goody bag.

Entry is open with an entry limit of 250 places. Fees listed are £14.00 for affiliated runners and £16.00 for unaffiliated runners; on the day entry is available for an additional £2.00. Race numbers use embedded timing chips. The event is not suitable for wheelchairs and holds race licence ARC 26/0763.

Facilities at the race headquarters at Knaresborough Cricket Club include water, distance markers, toilets, changing facilities and baggage storage; there are no showers. Prizes are awarded for top finishers and specified veteran categories, and local hospitality vouchers supplement the normal prizes. Tea, coffee and cakes will be served for cash donations, with all money raised going to Yorkshire Air Ambulance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
