Keynsham Dandy is a trail race organised by Town and Country Harriers with race headquarters at The New Inn, 90 Bath Hill, Keynsham, BS31 1HN. The course is about 12.5 miles and starts in Keynsham, following rivers, rolling agricultural land and woods. The route includes the revived Compton Dando section and at least two stream crossings. The race is marshalled with First Aid medics in support. A medal is awarded to every finisher and prizes are given in Open and Female categories, age-group categories, canicross, and for the first club team.

Race details and rules

Entry is limited to a maximum of 200 competitors, including up to 40 canicross entries. Standard entry fees are listed as £21 (£23 unaffiliated). The event provides two water stations on course and one at the finish; the race is cup-less so runners are asked to carry a cup or refillable bottle. Canicross entrants must have public liability insurance for the dog, use a lead with a CaniX regulation waistbelt, and bring only one dog per runner. In-ear earbuds are banned; bone-conducting headphones are permitted. Time penalties apply for avoiding the two named stream crossings. Half of any event surplus will be donated to the Bath, Keynsham & Somer Valley Foodbank. Parking is available at Bath Hill East Car Park and the number 39 bus stops near the race HQ; it is a 13 minute walk from Keynsham railway station.
