Keynsham Dandy
Keynsham Dandy is a 12.5 miles trail race held in Keynsham, between Bath and Bristol, on 18 October 2026. The route follows the revived Compton Dandy course and runs alongside rivers, through woods and rolling agricultural land. The course includes at least two stream crossings and muddy sections, and runners should expect slip and trip hazards and possible livestock in fields.
Race headquarters and registration are at The New Inn, 90 Bath Hill, Keynsham BS31 1HN. Parking is not available at the pub; parking is provided at Bath Hill East Car Park where parking is free on race day. The number 39 bus stops near the race HQ and the route is about a 13 minute walk from Keynsham railway station.
Entries are limited to a maximum of 200 competitors including 40 canicross places. The minimum age is 18. Entry fees are listed as £21 or £23 for unaffiliated entrants. There are no entries on the day.
Canicross entries require one dog per runner, a lead and a CaniX regulation waistbelt, public liability insurance for the dog, and that owners clean up after their dog. Two water stations are on course with a further station at the finish; the event is cup-less so runners should bring a cup or refillable bottle. A medal is awarded to every finisher and prizes are allocated across Open, Female and age categories as well as canicross and club team awards.
Safety arrangements include course marshals, First Aid medics, and specific rules such as a ban on in-ear earbuds. Time penalties apply if runners avoid stream crossings at Woolard and Tucking Mill. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
