The North Face Kendal Skyline Ultra : overview

The North Face Kendal Skyline Ultra is a 50 km trail race held in Kendal on 22 November 2025. The course covers approximately 50 km with about 900 m of ascent and combines trail, road and fell terrain. The route links local summits to form a 360-degree skyline of Kendal and passes landmarks such as limestone escarpments, castles, a deer park and river trails. The event is organised by Ourea Events and supported by The North Face. The race finishes at the Kendal Mountain Festival Basecamp after a closed-road mass start in Kendal town centre.

Logistics, support and rules

The course is fully signed, waymarked and marshalled, with live GPS tracking and digital timing. There are two support points on course plus an additional water point; support points provide hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, soup, snacks, cakes, fruit and gluten-free and vegan alternatives. A meat and fish free menu is used for event catering. Mandatory kit must be carried and a downloadable checklist is provided; a survival bag is required. The event contributes UTMB index points for 50K ranking. Minimum age is 18 and dogs are not permitted on the route. Prizes are awarded to the first three male and female finishers and to first place in veteran age categories. Baggage storage, toilets and medical cover are provided at event facilities.
