Kaim Hill Race

Fairlie, United Kingdom • 15 Apr 2026

Kaim Hill Race takes place on Wednesday 15 April 2026. It is the first race in the Scottish Hill Runners Bog and Burn series and is sponsored by NAAC. The entry fee is £10.00 plus a booking fee. Entries are limited to 150 participants, after which a wait list will be activated. Entries open 17 March 2026.

The course distance is 5.7 km (3.5 miles) with an ascent of 380 m (1246 ft). Registration is at Fairlie Parish Church, KA29 0AL, which is approximately a seven minute walk to the start. Fairlie Train Station is about 0.6 miles from the church. Participants are asked to be considerate when parking and to car share where possible.

The route begins with a short tarmac section before ascending Fairlie Glen, a narrow winding trail with tree roots and uneven ground. After a kissing gate there is a burn crossing and a steep muddy bank onto open hillside covered with heather and grassy tussocks. The route follows a quad bike track around the summit plateau in an anticlockwise direction to the cairn, then returns through a bog and down the same route. Extra caution is advised on the descent through the glen because of roots and rocks.

The race is held under Scottish Hill Runners rules, which may require waterproof full body cover, hat, gloves and a whistle depending on weather. Prizegiving, a hot drink and cake are provided at Fairlie Parish Church; please remove dirty footwear before entering the church hall.
