Event Overview
The Juniper Canyon Half Marathon is a spring trail race in Northern Utah. The event is presented by Happy Trails Racing.
Course and Location
The race takes place in Utah along the Wasatch Front. The course runs through canyons, ridgelines, and foothills overlooking the Wasatch Valley and Mountains. It features single-track running and some elevation gain. The start and finish is at Butterfield Park in Herriman.

The race date is May 2, 2026. The half marathon distance starts at 6:30 AM. Registration is available in early, normal, and late pricing tiers.
Participant Perks
Participants receive a high-quality race shirt and a custom, locally made finisher's medal. Post-race, a breakfast is provided by Great Harvest Bread, featuring items like cinnamon rolls and seasonal breads, along with beverages and bananas. Free race photos are taken by Xotio Media. The course is marked with pink flags, ribbons, signs, and trail marshals.
On-Site Services
Aid stations are stocked with Gatorade, water, Honey Stinger gels or waffles, fruit, and other snacks. At the finish line, Revive Sport & Spine offers post-race care. There is also a photo backdrop and games like cornhole. Parking is free.
Awards
Awards are given for overall male and female winners (1st, 2nd, 3rd) and for age divisions. Age groups are: >20, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.
Logistics
Packet pickup is available the day before the race at the Salt Lake Running Store in Sandy, or on race day starting at 5:30 AM at the start line. Late registration begins on April 3rd. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
