Juniper Canyon Half Marathon
Juniper Canyon Half Marathon is a spring trail race on May 2nd 2026 that runs through canyons, ridgelines, and foothills overlooking the Wasatch Valley and Mountains. The course features single track sections and noticeable elevation gain on trails near Butterfield Park in Herriman, Utah, where the race both starts and finishes.
The course is marked with pink flags, ribbons, signs, and trail marshals. Aid stations are stocked with Gatorade, water, Honey Stinger gels and waffles, fruit, and assorted snacks. Live results and free race photos hosted online with bib recognition are provided. Parking is free and plentiful.
Participants receive a high quality race shirt and a custom locally made finisher medal. Packet pickup is available the day before at a local running store and on race day at the starting area. Same day registration is not available.
Post race food includes offerings from Great Harvest Bread such as cinnamon rolls, seasonal bread, and pumpkin chocolate chip bread, plus chocolate milk, orange juice, and bananas. Overall male and female awards for the half marathon are given for 1st through 3rd place, and age division medals are awarded for 1st through 3rd in age groups including 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus. Volunteers receive a credit toward future races and access to finish line food. Average temperatures for the period are about 66 F high and 48 F low.
