Format, rules, and awards
Runners complete the same loop once each hour. A loop must be finished within the hour to count; runners who do not complete a loop or who choose not to start a loop at the hour are removed from that event. The final loop, called the Legacy loop, is timed and used to determine 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places; placements are decided first by distance completed, then by time on the last completed lap. Rules include no pacers, no artificial aid including trekking poles, and no leaving the course for aid once a lap has begun (restroom use is allowed). Crew and support may use the start/finish area without blocking the course.
Awards: all runners who complete at least one loop receive a finisher medal; runners who complete 12 loops receive a custom leather patch beanie marking 50 miles, and those who complete 24 loops receive a beanie marking 100 miles. Snacks and standard aid-station items are provided at the finish area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
