The course runs on dirt roads and single track trails and includes hill climbs and ocean views. Both loop courses start and finish at the bridge in the lower parking lot of Crystal Cove State Park. The park elevation is 1,033 ft.
Packet pickup is mandatory on Thursday, May 6, 2027 at Road Runner Sports Costa Mesa, 1835 Newport Blvd, Costa Mesa, CA 92627. Packets include a bib, a John Wayne Grit Series participant shirt, and other items. Each finisher receives a mug at the finish line.
Aid stations are cupless; filled water bottles will be provided at the finish. Runners are asked to use hydration packs or handheld bottles with an opening large enough for volunteer refills. A complimentary Nathan water cup is available at the expo/start line area.
Parking is available inside the park with payment via QR code on site; cash is not accepted. LAZ Parking manages parking and charges a parking fee plus a transaction fee. Specific lots and shuttle service are used for different race distances.
There is a race component with podium medals and prizes for the top three female and top three male finishers on each course. Cancer survivors who register may pick up a complimentary yellow bandana at packet pickup while supplies last. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
