That's No Moon Trail Races
That's No Moon is a trail race weekend held in the Cleveland National Forest and Santa Ana Mountains near Silverado, California. The event offers three distances:
- 50 Mile
- 50K
- 30K
Courses run on forest roads and remote singletrack with exposed ridgelines and sections of very rough terrain. The 50 Mile route lists 9,440 feet of total elevation gain and a maximum elevation near 4,530 feet. The 50K lists 5,469 feet of gain and a max elevation near 3,845 feet. The 30K lists 2,899 feet of gain and a max elevation near 3,359 feet. Each distance has a published time limit.
Aid stations appear along the courses and are designated full or water only; several stations are equipped with radio communications. Crew and pacer rules differ by distance: crew access is limited for the 50 Mile and pacers are allowed for that distance under specified conditions, while pacers and on-course crewing are not permitted for the 50K and 30K. Drop bag locations vary by distance and are handled at specific aid stations.
Runners must carry their own food, fluids, clothing and supplies between aid stations and must carry a minimum of 40 ounces of water. Lights are required for running after dark. Ample parking is provided at the start and finish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
